This afternoon around two or three o’clock, we came to Eastern Suburb Memory, a well-known cultural and creative landmark in Chengdu. Originally an old industrial factory, it was transformed into a fashionable district integrating fashion, food, cultural and creative products, exhibitions, and performances.
Weekend foot traffic is indeed high, with young people everywhere and the whole park full of energy. While retaining the industrial-style buildings, it also incorporates many modern art installations, specialty shops, cafes, and trendy brand stores; strolling around is never boring, and any casual photo has a great vibe.
Compared with Taikoo Li, which focuses on luxury brands, Eastern Suburb Memory is more youthful and down-to-earth, and has more of Chengdu’s local trend culture atmosphere. Whether you come to take photos and check in, drink coffee, visit markets, or simply experience the lifestyle of Chengdu’s young people, it is well worth setting aside half a day to wander. If it’s your first time in Chengdu, besides Taikoo Li, I think Eastern Suburb Memory is also a place very worth checking out.
