After spending so long in Pingzhou, Foshan, I’ve usually paid more attention to the jade markets and food here. I didn’t expect that the Jade Ware Street at dusk would have its own special charm.

Today I happened to take two photos, catching the most beautiful moment of the sunset glow. The sky was filled with pink and orange clouds, with the city skyline in the distance and rows of Lingnan-style buildings nearby. Gray-tiled roofs, distinctive pavilions, and a modern light rail station all intertwined. The old street and the new city mingled together, creating a particularly unique beauty.

Especially as the sun was about to set, the color of the sky was especially gentle. The city lights slowly came on, and the street began to take on a nighttime atmosphere. Looking out from a high vantage point, you can see both the everyday life of Pingzhou’s old streets and feel the changes happening in this city.

Personally, I think you don’t have to arrange any special itinerary when coming to Jade Ware Street. If you happen to be nearby for errands, browsing the jade market, or want to take a stroll after a meal, just pay attention to the evening sky. Find a spot with a wide view, watch the sunset glow, and take some photos—it’s a nice way to relax.

Sometimes the little surprises in travel and life are like this: not necessarily famous attractions, and not necessarily costing much money. Just happening upon a beautiful sunset glow is enough to make you stop.
