When mealtime came around today, I started looking for restaurants on Jade Ware Street I hadn’t tried yet. I’ve actually passed this place several times, but only today did I notice that its name on Dianping is different; what the shop actually serves is Northeast-style dumplings and a Northeast-style buffet.

18 yuan per person, all the dishes you can eat, unlimited! The price immediately caught my attention. There are quite a few weigh-and-pay, freshly stir-fried fast-food places on Jade Ware Street now; they look like they offer a lot of choices, but once you fill a plate, it easily comes to 25 to 30 yuan. In comparison, this 18-yuan all-you-can-eat buffet is really friendly to nearby workers.

I paid 18 yuan on the spot and went in to see what there was to eat. My requirements are simple: scrambled eggs with tomato, greens, shredded potato, and a little char siu, paired with rice, and I’m happy. The owner’s wife is from Northeast China. Besides home-style stir-fries, the shop also has soy-braised pork bones and red-braised pork. When she heard we had arrived, she specifically asked if we liked dumplings, then bustled around the kitchen for a while and brought us two plates of freshly made dumplings: one plate with cabbage and pork filling, and one with chives and egg filling.

That made the 18 yuan feel even more worth it! Honestly, the shop’s frontage and decor are pretty ordinary, not the kind of restaurant that attracts people by its environment. But I think it knows its positioning clearly: no fancy decor, just a rich variety of dishes and affordable prices, so people can eat their fill and leave satisfied.

You have to realize that operating costs on Jade Ware Street aren’t low — rent and labor are real expenses. In a place like this, being able to keep offering an unlimited 18-yuan buffet is genuinely not easy. Compared with those weigh-and-pay fast-food places that seem to have many choices but end up costing quite a bit, the price advantage here is pretty obvious.

Of course, you can’t compare an 18-yuan buffet with restaurants that cost tens or hundreds of yuan in terms of environment or refinement. But if you work near Jade Ware Street and just want a place to have a solid meal on a normal day, with a variety of dishes and affordable prices, then this place is worth trying.

Personally, I think as long as it can maintain its current dishes and quality, it should still be able to accumulate a good number of repeat customers. In the future, if friends are near Jade Ware Street and don’t want to spend too much but want to eat until they’re full, I’d be happy to recommend this place.

At 18 yuan per person, Northeast home-style dishes plus dumplings, unlimited until you’re full. At this price on Jade Ware Street, it’s really very competitive!
