After eating around Jade Street again and again, I felt like everything was more or less the same, so I decided to expand my search for food a little. Today I hopped on my little e-scooter and reached Jiabang International Center in ten minutes. There are quite a few places to eat here. After walking around, I found this Hunan restaurant had decent popularity, with quite a few diners inside. I had been wanting something strong-flavored and good with rice for dinner, so I decisively went in to try it.
As soon as I looked at the menu, I was pleasantly surprised. After scanning the QR code to check the prices, I felt they were much cheaper than similar Hunan restaurants near Jade Street—probably about 40% cheaper. Stir-fried pork kidney cost only 24.8 yuan, and Yongzhou blood duck was 23.8 yuan! These two dishes are usually not cheap when eating out, but here you can order them for just over 20 yuan each.
So I ordered both—one stir-fried pork kidney and one Yongzhou blood duck—for less than 50 yuan total, and rice was free.
The dishes arrived quickly, and I started eating while they were hot!
Hunan cuisine is known for being fragrant, spicy, and full of flavor, especially good with rice. These two dishes really delivered that feeling—rich aroma, and I kept taking bite after bite with rice. Personally, I think the taste is not much worse than those Hunan dishes priced at 30 or 40 yuan each.
Of course, the portions aren’t huge, but given the price, it’s completely acceptable. After all, two dishes plus free rice for under 50 yuan is genuinely good value.
To sum up: If you’re near Jiabang International Center in Pingzhou and want an affordable, boldly flavored Hunan restaurant, this place is worth trying. I’m satisfied, and next time I crave Hunan food, I’ll come back again. A Yongzhou blood duck and a stir-fried pork kidney for under 50 yuan—what more could you ask for?
