Kangfuji Restaurant「康福记酒家」

Review

Often passed by Kangfuji in Pingzhou, but had never eaten there before. Mainly because the storefront is not particularly eye-catching, and it’s on the second floor, so it looks like a long-established restaurant that has been open for many years. This time while browsing Dianping, I suddenly saw they had a raw fish coupon for less than 100 yuan, which includes a whole fish.

Normally, two or three people eating raw fish would usually cost around 200–300 yuan, so this price really tempted me. In the evening I invited a friend to come and try it. The restaurant’s decor is indeed quite old-fashioned, and the diners are mainly nearby neighbors. At mealtime the occupancy rate wasn’t high, but the restaurant is not small.

After redeeming the coupon, we waited almost half an hour for the fish to arrive. The serving speed was indeed a bit slow. But when the raw fish was served, I was quite pleasantly surprised. One fish can yield about 4 plates of raw fish slices, and the texture was good. As a set meal under 100 yuan, I think it’s quite decent.

And it’s not just raw fish:

🐟 Remaining fish meat — cooked into congee

🐟 Also included a portion of spicy paste

With this calculation, basically the whole fish is utilized. If you simply ask whether it’s worth it? I think for under 100 yuan, this raw fish is really OK. The environment is a bit outdated and serving is a bit slow, these issues do exist, but if you’re mainly here for value for money, this place is worth trying. Especially if two or three people want to eat raw fish but don’t want to spend two or three hundred yuan, this price is really attractive.
