Just finished a bowl of satay noodles, and I still felt a little unsatisfied. I happen to like white-cut meats quite a bit, especially the original flavor. I’ve often had this kind of preparation when visiting Maoming and Yangjiang before.
So this time I ordered their white-cut three-kind platter, choosing beef rib, goose intestine, and pork stomach. This portion was about 40 yuan. Among them, beef rib and pork stomach required extra payment: beef rib was an extra 8 yuan, and pork stomach an extra 4 yuan.
After the food arrived, the taste was actually okay, but there was a fairly obvious problem: because beef rib and pork stomach are relatively expensive, fewer people order them, so they didn’t seem freshly sliced. They were a bit cold when brought out, especially the pork stomach, which seemed refrigerated. I mentioned this to the staff, and they helped heat it up slightly. Once the temperature came up, the texture improved a lot. So if I were to score this platter, I’d give it about 78 points.
The taste wasn’t a big issue; it mainly lost points on temperature and texture. If these pricier cuts could be kept at a better temperature, the overall experience would be better. Also, they have self-serve soup and rice. The rice is quite special—it’s not ordinary white rice; it seems to have some spices added, giving it a faint aroma. However, I had already eaten satay noodles earlier, so I didn’t eat much rice this time, mainly focusing on trying the white-cut meats.
Next time if I come again, I plan to try their pork neck, pork diaphragm, as well as white-cut chicken and white-cut duck. Overall, the taste is okay. If you like the original flavor of white-cut, you can come and try it.
