Review

Today I was running errands nearby and saw they happened to have a two-person set meal, so I bought one and came to try it.

It’s currently the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, so restaurants should be busy. I originally thought there might be a wait, but after parking and going straight upstairs, even at mealtime the restaurant only had a few scattered tables of people—quite a contrast with the lively atmosphere of the surrounding restaurants.

Also, maybe because there weren’t many people, my first impression of the place was that it felt a little old and lacked the energy a restaurant should have.

The set meal was simple: one pork stomach chicken hot pot, plus a portion of vegetables and a portion of radish. Let’s start with the dipping sauce: the soy sauce was a bit too salty for me, and the seasoning was ordinary, about 70 points.

The pork stomach chicken, on the other hand, was okay. The soup base and overall taste were normal; the pork stomach chicken itself had no obvious problems—I’d say around 75 points. It’s definitely not amazing, but it’s fine for a normal meal.

What disappointed me more was the radish. It clearly lacked moisture and had a coarse, fibrous texture. Normally, after cooking in the pot until done, radish should be soft, a little juicy, and even fall apart when gently picked up with chopsticks, but theirs remained quite dry and tough even after a long time cooking. I think the ingredient quality was not good.

Overall, this meal didn’t have any major disasters, but there really wasn’t much memorable about it.

Overall, about 70 points.

Especially with the food and beverage competition in Foshan being so fierce now, it’s still a bit surprising that the restaurant had so few customers at mealtime during Mid-Autumn Festival. If neither the taste, environment, nor ingredients stand out in any way, it will really be hard for them going forward.
