Jiangwan Interchange - Night Market「江湾立交桥-夜市」

Tonight I came to check out the Jiangwan night market, and I didn’t expect it to be so lively—the crowds really exceeded my expectations. I feel it’s even busier than the night market over in Pingzhou. The whole street is lined with food stalls of all kinds: barbecue, snacks, desserts, Chaoshan food… You can basically walk without a break, and every stall owner is incredibly busy. If we’re talking purely about the street-stall vibe, I think this is one of the top night markets in Foshan.

What surprised me was that even though there were so many people and stalls, overall management was okay. I could see people cleaning constantly, so it didn’t feel particularly dirty or messy. Today I started with Chaoshan thin-skin steamed dumplings, 10 yuan for 8. They came out steaming hot, with thin skins and full fillings, and tasted pretty good. The key is they were only ten yuan. Places like this are all about walking and eating as you go.

Now I’m going to keep walking farther in and see what else is worth eating.

If you don’t know where to go at night and you like this kind of lively, low-cost night market, you really can come walk around here. Even if you don’t specifically eat anything, just strolling around is pretty fun.

Lots of people, lots of food, affordable prices, and the street-food atmosphere is real.
