Ruixingyuan Puning Tea Snacks (Pingzhou Branch)「瑞兴园普宁茶点(平洲店)」

Review

At mealtime today I didn’t know what to eat and didn’t want to overdo it. When I saw this Puning tea spot, I thought I’d drop in for a light bite.

They actually have Dianping group-buy deals, but I looked at the set menu and there were some things I didn’t really want, so I decided to just order a la carte.

I ordered honeycomb tripe, black pepper beef short ribs, beef omasum, and an iced soy milk. It came to a bit over forty yuan.

The taste was actually fine, I’d give it 85 points. Everything is steamed after you order, so it arrived piping hot and the texture was good. But the food did come out a little slowly; I waited a while after sitting down.

The portions, though, are really a bit small.

I remember the black pepper beef short ribs were just three slices, and the tripe was about five strips. I also noticed their dumplings are 12 yuan for four. If you just want a little something, it’s okay, but if you come really hungry, you’ll probably need to order a lot of baskets.

After spending forty-something yuan, I feel the flavor was fine, but I just wish the portions were bigger. Anyway, this kind of tea snack is still fine to have once in a while. If I pass by again, I’ll probably come back.
