Today when it was time to eat, I didn’t know what to have. I opened Dianping and saw this place was nearby—it had also been sitting in my saved list for a while, so I came to give it a try.
This shop has been open for quite a long time, and it mainly serves simple meals with good value. I didn’t want to eat too much today, so I just felt like having a simple bowl of congee.
I ordered a bowl of congee and added beef, pork diaphragm, pork tongue, and preserved egg—four toppings in total for only 18 yuan. When it arrived, the portion was quite generous. Most importantly, the meat toppings all tasted fresh, which I was quite satisfied with.
The flavor reminded me a bit of “Zhou Liao Xiao Shi” in Pingzhou, but that place mainly does breakfast, so if you want it for lunch or dinner, you’re out of luck. This place is much more convenient—you can basically eat it all day. The congee also tastes good, and the toppings are quite substantial.
I also ordered a portion of chive fried dumplings, six for 18 yuan. The dumplings tasted very fresh; it felt like they were wrapped to order and then fried. The outside was fried until fragrant, and the chive filling inside was also quite fresh.
After this meal, I think the value for money is decent.
Actually, for simple little eateries like this, I care more about a few things: fresh ingredients, good flavor, cleanliness and hygiene, not-too-expensive prices, and convenient parking. That’s already suitable for eating here regularly.
This place basically meets all of that.
It’s not the kind of place you’d travel far to specifically check in at, but if you live nearby or happen to pass by and want a simple meal, I think it’s quite suitable.
I’ll come back again next time, because these kinds of places are the real everyday eateries you can keep returning to.
