Recently, while browsing Dianping, I kept seeing this soy milk ice place. Today I happened to be nearby, so I wanted to come and try it to see what was so special.

The shop is located on a relatively small road, and the good thing is there is parking nearby. It was already four or five in the afternoon when I arrived, and it was a workday. I didn’t expect the shop to be quite busy. I guess it would be even more lively on weekends during meal times.

First, the environment: it’s a very simple and plain little shop with basically no decoration to speak of.

If you just come to eat, it’s fine. But if you want to bring your girlfriend for a “pretty meal” and take some photos, then this place probably isn’t suitable.

What I was more curious about was their soy milk ice.

I’ve had similar milk ice before, where milk is frozen into fine ice flakes and then topped with various ingredients. Their method is somewhat similar, except they replace the milk with soy milk. This creative idea is the first time I’ve seen it in Foshan.

Today I ordered an 18-yuan full-topping bowl.

The price is indeed not expensive. Nowadays, similar milk ice outside costs twenty or thirty yuan for a portion casually. Their soy milk flavor is quite strong, and the texture is relatively smooth. Personally, I would give it about 85 points.

However, if I simply compare the “tastiness,” I personally still prefer milk ice because the milk fragrance is stronger.

Also, their toppings take a relatively simple route, such as lotus seeds and taro balls, without eye-catching combinations like matcha, chocolate, or mango. So when you eat it, you won’t have that “wow, so amazing” feeling.

But from another perspective, for 18 yuan for a big bowl, what more can you ask for?

To sum up: the environment is ordinary, the toppings are ordinary, the taste is good, and it wins with its affordable price. Moreover, this “soy milk ice” thing is really quite interesting.

If you haven’t tried it like me, it’s still worth coming specially to try something new. As for whether it will become my long-term repeat order? I might still prefer milk ice a bit more.
