Recently I noticed that Jade Street has another Zigong cuisine restaurant, specializing in Fushun douhua. I happened to have time today, so I came to try it.
Actually, there are quite a few Sichuan restaurants around Jade Street. There used to be a Fushun douhua place at the street entrance that I had eaten at a few times. That one later moved, prices went up a bit, and I felt the taste wasn’t as amazing as before, so when I saw this new one, I still wanted to come and compare.
This time I ordered the 38-yuan set meal from Dianping: one portion of stir-fried pork intestine plus one douhua. I think this price is really good value, and the key is that the food came out very quickly—it was on the table before long.
What surprised me most was the stir-fried pork intestine. When it arrived, the portion was indeed quite generous, feeling at least 30% more than the previous place at the street entrance. The intestine was also processed well and tasted tender, without the feeling of chewing forever and not being able to bite through. The overall texture was better than the one I had before.
The douhua was fairly typical Fushun douhua, and it was comfortable to eat with the other dish. For this price, I think it’s already very cost-effective.
Also, the environment of this shop was better than I expected. The interior space is quite large, and overall it feels comfortable to sit in, unlike some small neighborhood shops that are cramped.
So far, my impression of this place is good. Especially the stir-fried pork intestine: generous portion, tender texture—this 38-yuan set meal is really worth it.
I’ll come back when I have a chance and try their other Zigong-style stir-fried dishes. If the taste can stay at this level, this shop will probably become one I visit often on Jade Street.
