Review

Yurenjia has been an old establishment on Jade Street for many years, specializing in Hunan cuisine, and has always been frequented by many locals. Today, I suddenly craved fish with pickled mustard greens, so I came to try it.

Actually, there are quite a few Hunan restaurants on Jade Street that make fish with pickled mustard greens. Their fish with pickled mustard greens is priced at 43 yuan, slightly more expensive than similar places nearby, which usually cost around 30-plus yuan. Although the price is a bit higher, the portion size is decent.

Overall, the experience was average, and I’d give it a score of 75. The broth had a strong sour and spicy flavor, which was quite appetizing, and the aroma was good. However, the fish was a little overcooked, lacking that particularly tender and smooth texture, which was a bit of a pity.

If you work nearby and want to eat Hunan cuisine or fish with pickled mustard greens, this place is acceptable. But if you’re making a special trip just for this dish, I don’t think it’s necessary.
