Feng Sanniang Qiaojiao Beef (Famous Sichuan Restaurant)「冯三孃跷脚牛肉(四川名店)」

Review

After seeing the Leshan Giant Buddha, we had planned to go directly to eat at Feng Siniang Qiaojiao Beef, but when we arrived by car we discovered—there was actually a power outage.

We heard there might be a problem with the electrical facilities, so we had no choice but to change plans on the spot.

After a quick search, we simply headed to Feng Sanniang instead. Along the way I kept wondering: what exactly is the relationship between Feng Sanniang and Feng Siniang?

Later, the owner told us that Feng Sanniang is the ‘founder’—as for the specific history, you can research it yourself.

When we drove up to the restaurant, we got lucky and found a parking spot right away. We parked and started eating!

We ordered a bunch of dishes in one go: Qiaojiao beef, huanghou, blood curd, sweet-skin duck, bingfen… basically everything we wanted to try.

Honestly, after eating our way through Sichuan, I found that Leshan cuisine really suits my taste. This meal was also one of the most satisfying of the whole Sichuan trip.

In particular, the signature Qiaojiao beef had a fresh broth and tender beef, very comforting; the huanghou and blood curd didn’t disappoint either. The sweet-skin duck was very Leshan, and the bowl of bingfen at the end helped cut the spice and richness. The kids especially enjoyed it.

But this was our first time really eating Qiaojiao beef, so I can’t really compare which restaurant is the most authentic.

In fact, this may be the only one we ate on this trip.

But at least this meal at Feng Sanniang didn’t go wrong.

Good flavor, comfortable meal, and the whole family was quite satisfied. If you’re visiting Leshan and want to eat local specialties after seeing the Giant Buddha, I think this place is recommended!
