Today I had some free time, so I got a few friends together to eat at Hu Boss. I heard it’s a newly opened place in Pingzhou, and at first I wasn’t sure whether to classify it as a restaurant or a bar.
After going inside, I found it actually leans more toward the bar + live performance model. The facilities and overall environment are pretty good. The space is quite large, and in the evening there are performances like singing, dancing, and Sichuan opera face-changing, which definitely creates a lively atmosphere.
We ordered a set meal and added a few more dishes. I think the food itself is fairly average. The selection isn’t as extensive as a traditional restaurant; it’s more about small bites suitable for drinking and chatting. The taste was okay, overall about 75 points: not particularly amazing, but nothing disappointing either.
As for price, if you don’t use vouchers, I think it’s a little expensive. But when you consider the live performances and such a large venue, the operating costs must not be low, so if you factor in the environment and performances, it’s acceptable.
I think this place is more suitable for a few friends to come and relax; eating isn’t really its biggest strength.
The only thing I want to complain about is that the sound system is really a bit too loud.
During the performance, I could barely hear my friends talking next to me. If they could adjust that, it would be more comfortable.
Overall, if you haven’t been here, it’s worth experiencing once. Don’t treat it simply as a restaurant; it’s more suitable as a place to grab a bite, have some drinks, watch a show, and get together with friends.
