Review

This is a long-established raw fish restaurant in Pingzhou, open for over thirty years. It’s also a place I frequent. Whenever I crave raw fish after a while, I basically think of coming here.

First, let’s talk about the environment. It’s indeed quite ordinary—the decoration is still in the style from many years ago, with no special highlights. But if you’re here for the taste, I think it’s perfectly acceptable.

What attracts me most here is the raw fish. The chef handles it very cleanly, slicing it evenly with a delicate texture. The accompaniments follow the typical Shunde raw fish style—six or seven kinds of ingredients mixed together, then drizzled with the restaurant’s homemade peanut oil and soy sauce. After mixing, the layers of aroma are very rich, and I always feel satisfied every time I come.

Besides the raw fish, we also ordered a Tianma fish head soup. The broth was sweet and fresh, with a generous fish head. It paired perfectly with the raw fish, and the two of us ate very contentedly.

If you want to eat Shunde-style raw fish in Pingzhou, this is indeed an old shop worth trying. Although the environment isn’t outstanding, the fact that it has maintained consistent quality over the years is why it still has many regular customers.
