This time I stayed at the Lichen Hotel in Zhaoqing. I feel it’s probably one of the most cost-effective hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
When I booked, the room rate was just over 240 yuan per night. To my surprise, the front desk upgraded my room for free and also gave me two breakfast vouchers. The overall experience exceeded my expectations. The room decoration is relatively new, with a simple and elegant design. The cleanliness is good, and the bedding is comfortable to sleep on. It doesn’t feel like a cheap hotel at all.
The hotel’s location is also very convenient, right in the city center. It’s close to surrounding attractions, food streets, and shopping areas, and it’s easy to get around by car or taxi.
At a price of just over 200 yuan, I feel it offers an experience close to hotels in the 400 yuan range. Whether it’s the room, service, or overall environment, I think it’s great value for money. If you’re traveling to Zhaoqing and looking for a reasonably priced, stable-quality hotel, this one is worth considering. I would choose to stay here again next time.
