Asao E'na Rice (Zhapo Branch)「阿嫂鹅乸饭(闸坡店)」

Review

During this trip to Hailing Island, I didn’t really want to specifically eat seafood. Mainly because I feel many seafood restaurants here are not cheap, with prices that seem tourist-oriented. Also, it’s not the fishing season, so most seafood is farmed, which isn’t that appealing.

So for this meal, I wanted to find a place for goose mother rice and have a simple meal. Passing by this shop, I saw quite a few people, so we decided to try it. We ordered saury, pig trotters, and white-cut chicken. The white-cut chicken was the best—the chicken looked shiny and was tender, I’d give it 85 points. The saury was average, just normal. The pig trotters were a bit disappointing; they weren’t fragrant enough and lacked flavor, leaving little impression.

Overall, the quality of the food here is okay, and the service was good—the boss was quite polite. It wasn’t particularly amazing, probably around 70 points. If you come to Hailing Island and don’t want to spend a lot on seafood, just want a simple local meal, this place is a reference.
