It had been a while since I last had Haidilao. My wife suddenly craved hot pot, so we brought her sister along to satisfy the craving. Maybe because it was past meal time, there weren’t many customers, making the experience quite comfortable.
What impresses me most about Haidilao is still the “management.” Whether it’s the table settings, the condiment station, or the service process, everything is neatly arranged and clean. Many restaurants compete on decor, but Haidilao’s strength is that it makes you feel like you’re in a well-managed company.
We three ordered almost all the signature items and ended up spending over 600 yuan. Honestly, the quality and consistency of their ingredients are always reliable. The tomato broth is rich and appetizing, the spicy broth is fragrant without being harsh, and the passion fruit sour soup broth was a pleasant surprise, tangy and refreshing.
Sometimes a restaurant stays popular not just because of the taste, but because it maintains consistency over time. Haidilao has maintained its quality over the years, and that’s not without reason. When you want hot pot and don’t want to risk a bad choice, it’s still a safe bet.
