Today I took my daughter to school, and there was still some time before class. She said she wanted noodles, so I searched nearby and found this Heshan Noodle House. It took about 15 minutes to walk there.
First impression was good: clean and comfortable environment, relaxing to sit down, and it’s a Michelin-recommended local noodle shop. We ordered their signature beef brisket noodles and pork chop noodles.
Honestly, the taste was indeed on point. The beef brisket was stewed very tender, the broth rich but not greasy; the pork chop was also flavorful, with tender meat and good cooking. Overall quality is clearly a notch above average local noodle shops.
The price is moderate, not cheap, but considering the quality and environment, I think it’s worth it and represents the overall standard of Shanghai local noodles well.
Two details were particularly nice: noodles can be refilled for free, and pickled vegetables are also free to take. Very friendly for those with big appetites.
If you’re nearby and want a proper bowl of local noodles, this place is worth a try.
