Review

After finishing my errands today, I opened Dianping and randomly found this place. Since I’ve always held Chaoshan cuisine in high regard, I navigated straight there.

I arrived right at mealtime, and the place was packed—very popular. I was torn between ordering seafood noodles or their old preserved vegetable congee. In the end, I chose the old preserved vegetable congee, and it did not disappoint.

I ordered a fish fillet congee and added pork offal, totaling only 20 yuan, plus a small portion of braised goose. The congee was really good—if I had to rate it out of 100, I’d give it 95. The broth was fresh, and the aroma of the old preserved vegetable was pleasant, not too salty, and very smooth.

The braised goose was a bit average because the portion I got was mostly lean meat, which was a bit dry. I prefer tender pieces with some skin and fat. So I’d give the goose about 80.

Overall, this place is highly recommended. The prices are very affordable—most congee is between 15 and 25 yuan, with premium ingredients like grouper or grouper belly maybe up to 30-plus, but a regular bowl is just 10 to 20 yuan.

The owner is Chaoshanese, so the flavors are authentic. I’ll definitely come again if I pass by.
