Foshan Shadi Airport「佛山沙堤机场」

Review

Today I returned to Shanghai, still choosing to depart from Foshan Shadi Airport. After the renovation in the past two years, the airport is indeed much more comfortable than before. The waiting environment, flow, and boarding efficiency have all improved. Because it has some military airport attributes, it feels different from many large civil airports. The biggest advantage is that the crowd is not as overwhelming, and security checks and boarding are quite fast, making it easier for frequent travelers.

However, note that the parking time for pick-up/drop-off vehicles is strictly limited. It’s best to be quick when dropping someone off; after 8 minutes, fees start to apply, so it’s not friendly for short stops. Another thing many first-timers don’t know: some areas of the airport are not allowed to be photographed due to its military background. There are reminders on site, so it’s best to follow the rules.

Overall, if you don’t particularly need the commercial facilities of a large airport, I think the ‘small but fast’ experience of Foshan Shadi Airport is actually more comfortable than many crowded big airports.
