Originally, I wanted to eat at Ronggui “Erlaba Spare Ribs Rice” today, but by the time I arrived, it was past meal hours, and the chef had already left at around 2 PM, so I had to give up. I searched nearby and found this Ronggui Spare Ribs Restaurant, thinking that similar places shouldn’t be too different.
After navigating there, my first impression was okay—the environment and decor were passable. I ordered a garlic spare ribs and a double steamed combo of pork kidney and “longtou” (a type of meat).
But honestly, this meal was a bit disappointing. The steamed spare ribs rice here is among the worst I’ve had. The ribs weren’t fresh, tasted dry and tough, like thawed frozen goods; the pork kidney was poorly handled, overcooked and watery, dragging down the overall taste.
Already disappointed, I asked for a napkin when leaving, only to be told it costs 1 yuan per pack. I was really speechless. For a casual restaurant of this type, charging for such details really hurts the experience.
Overall, it fell far short of expectations. Not recommended, and I probably won’t come again.
