Arriving at Mingshi Tianyuan, my child wasn’t very hungry in the evening, so we delayed quite a bit before looking for food. We randomly walked into a local restaurant, only to find that their signature sand ginger chicken was already sold out. We originally wanted to order a suckling pig, but that was also sold out, which was a bit disappointing.
Fortunately, the restaurant next door still had suckling pig available, so we went over and ordered one. Unexpectedly, this dish became the highlight of the meal—the skin was crispy, while the meat inside was very tender and juicy, with perfect cooking control. It completely exceeded our expectations and was the shining moment of the dinner.
As for the other dishes from the original restaurant, they were relatively ordinary, nothing particularly outstanding—just the kind you eat and forget.
In summary: when dining in Mingshi Tianyuan, go early for popular dishes, or they might sell out; but sometimes an “unintentional” choice next door can bring a pleasant surprise.
